Holiday Dog Treat Recipes

When the weekend approaches, do you follow a typical routine or try something new, something especial maybe? It is good to stay indoors and around the family, but you should always do something interesting with them. When we talk about your family, we count your pets as well. Most pets are generally self-centered and can have fun on their own, but a dog isn’t! They like to stay around their owners and want to spend time with them. Why don’t you reward your furry fella for this? You can take them out but can also do another thing, cook for them. Below are the delicious treats that your dog would love!

1. The sweet potato dog treats:

This is one of the most favorite dog treats of the entire dog community! Also, this treat can be savored by any dog – without the fear of being allergic or sensitive to it.
The ingredients include:

  1. 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  2. 1 tsp. Virgin Coconut Oil
  3. 1 medium Sweet Potato (baked)
  4. ½ cup Organic Coconut Flour and ¼ cup Coconut Flour (if needed)

Make a dough with the baked potato, cinnamon, coconut oil and the coconut flour. Roll it out on parchment papers making a ¼ inch thick layer. Bake it for 30 minutes and serve it to your furry fella when cool. He would love it. This recipe is also handy for novice cooks!

2. Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Treats:

Peanut butter is loved by most of the dogs and only not, if they are allergic to it! It will spark up the holiday feel in you and your Fido!

You will need the following ingredients:

  1. ½ can of plain canned pumpkin
  2. 3 tablespoons of peanut butter
  3. 2 ½ cups of wheat flour
  4. 2 eggs

All you need to do is to preheat the oven at 350 degrees, mix all the ingredients in a bowl, cut them into cubes of ½ inches and bake until crisp! It shall bake to perfection in 45 minutes. You may also use cookie cutters to achieve a shape that your furry pal would enjoy eating!

3. The Blueberry Dog Biscuits:

Does your dog like blue berries? These blueberry dog biscuits shall be a delight for them.

Get your hands on the following ingredients:

  1. ¾ cup flax meal
  2. ½ cup frozen organic, unsweetened blueberries
  3. ¼ cup olive oil
  4. 1 large egg
  5. 1½ cups oat flour
  6. 2½ cups quinoa flour

Make a ¼ inch thick dough with the ingredients, cut the biscuits with a cookie cutter for the desired shapes. Preheat your oven at 350 degrees. Space all the cookies 1 inch apart and bake for 30 minutes.

4. Apple Mint Dog Cookies:

A perfect treat for your dog, also, it has ingredients that become mouthwatering for human beings as well!

The ingredients include:

  1. 2 tablespoons chopped spearmint leaves
  2. 1/2 cup applesauce
  3. 2 teaspoons green or red powdered food coloring or spinach powder (to get the color desired)
  4. 7/8 cup water
  5. 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  6. 1 tsp. Virgin Coconut Oil
  7. 1 medium Sweet Potato (baked)
  8. ½ cup Organic Coconut Flour + ¼ cup Coconut Flour (if needed)
  9. 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  10. 1 tsp. Virgin Coconut Oil
  11. 1 medium Sweet Potato (baked)
  12. ½ cup Organic Coconut Flour + ¼ cup Coconut Flour (if needed)

Make a cookie dough with all the ingredients, roll out the dough in to a ¼ inch layer. Use a bone shaped cookie cutter to cut out the treats. Bake them in a pre-heated oven for an hour. Keep the treats to dry overnight and see your dog enjoying them the next day!
